When your cheeks hurt from laughing through an entire session, you know it was a good one. Between giving me a heart attack watching the kids jump from rock to rock and making me laugh so hard my belly hurt just watching their Urkel impersonations, this session really turned out to be one of my favorites. Taking on large families can be scary sometimes, thinking about placement, then hoping that everyone will keep their eye's open for every photo. This session turned out to be so effortless, every smile and laugh was so absolutely genuine they made my job a little too easy. It definitely helps when your clients are friends who are very dear to your heart, but in general this beautiful family was made to be in front of the camera!

Of course while snapping some pictures of mom and dad together I snuck this picture of the sibling rivalry happening on the beach. The memories came rushing back of myself as a child racing with my friends, and the fun we used to have with all the neighborhood kids. Oh to be a kid again.

These sessions make me happy to do what I do, they make me remember why lifestyle sessions are so important to me. Watching children explore and find fun in the everyday nature that surrounds us, being able to capture their laughter and silly faces. It reminds me of how important it is to let children just be children sometimes. Allow them to take control of a session and just follow their lead and sometimes you'll capture your favorite memories that way. (It sure does make them cooperate better when I need them to pose!)
